No fewer than seven foreign countries, namely Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Chad, Cameroun and Niger Republic are expected to participate in the 44th edition of the Kano International Trade Fair scheduled to hold between 25th November to 9th December 2023.

This is just as about 250 companies from within and outside Nigeria were expected to attend the trade fair

The President, Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture, Alhaji Garba Imam disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the level of preparations so far made for hosting the event.

The theme of the Trade Fair is ‘Economic Diversification, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development’.

He also added that no fewer than 2.5 million visitors are also expected to attend the trade fair which is expected to be declared open by Governor Abba Yusuf.

“The chamber had made adequate provisions for facilities, as well as adequate security to safeguard the lives and properties of participants and visitors to the Fair.

“This year’s Trade Fair is intended to be unique as it has made special arrangements for exhibitions, entertainment for visitors, provision of stands for media partners and provision for philanthropic and social organizations,” Imam added.

“As part of the strategies to achieve these arrangements, the Council has embarked on contact and advocacy visits to all categories of participants and partners of the Trade Fair.”

He, however, disclosed that “The major partners visited include the Dangote Group, BUA Group, Mamuda Industries, Nigerian Ports Authority, CBN, NCC, NDIC, Lee Group, Aspira, banks and other financial institutions, foreign missions and embassies, the National Assembly, Federal and State MDAS and many other stakeholders towards mobilizing quality participation at the Fair.”

He therefore assured that KACCIMA would remain focused on the development of the Kano economy and, indeed, the Nigerian economy generally.

He hinted that ” This year’s Trade Fair is intended to be unique as it has made special arrangements for exhibitions, entertainment for visitors, provision of stands for media partners and provision for philanthropic and social organizations.”
