Notice is hereby given that the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), of Kano Chamber of
Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) will be held on Sunday 27th July,2025
10:00am at Aminu Dantata Trade Fair Complex,Zoo Road,Kano
AGENDA OF THE MEETING
- Special Business
Amendments of Memorandum and Articles of Association
of the Chamber as follows:
1.1.Section 3 Restriction of Membership
To delete item 3 which reads ” The number of Members with the
Chamber is proposed to be registered is 50 (Fifty)”
To insert a new item 3 as follows:”Membership is open to any
individual or Corporate entity engaged in commercial activities
and interested in the objectives of the Chamber”
1.2. Section 8 (iv) Termination of Membership
To delete item 8 (iv) which reads” if without any reason in
writing to the Director General, a member fails or refuses to pay
annual subscription or any other monies due from him a member
shall after a month cease to be a member of the Chamber”
To replace with “A member shall cease to be a member if: By
30th June of any year, the member has not paid annual due or any
other money owed to the Chamber”
1.3.Section 9 Subscription
Delete” The Council shall with the consent of members at the
Annual General Meeting determine the amount to be paid each
year as Annual Subscription”
Replace with “The Council shall determine all fees or dues
payable by members including Membership registration fees,
Annual dues, Levies e.t.c.”
1.4.Section 11 Powers and Duties of Council
“The office of the President shall be filled by succession from
the existing rank of Deputy Presidents or any former Deputy
President”.
(e) “The 2nd Deputy President shall be elected from among
serving or former Vice Presidents of the Chamber”
(f)“The Council may declare the seat of elected member
vacant in the event of any elected member of Council failing
to attend three consecutives meeting of the Council unless
there are reasonable explanations of the absence or if the
Council has excused him from attendance”
1.5.Section 12 The Council
To delete 12.4 which reads “The Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer”
1.6.Section 32 General Meetings
Add;32.3 Conduct at meetings
“All members in attendance at meetings must conduct
themselves with decorum. Accord full respect to the Chairman
and fellow members.
Seek recognition from the chairman before speaking.
Disruption of any meeting of the Chamber by any member shall
amount to a gross misconduct.
1.7.Section 43 Committees and Trade Groups.
Add:”The Chamber shall establish Centre alone or in
partnership with any corporate bodies or as separate Legal
entities for realizing its Vision and Mission”
1.8.Section 58 Notice/Legal action against the Chamber.
Add:”No Member shall initiate legal proceedings against the
Chamber or its officers without first submitting a written
complaint to the Council,stating: Nature of the complaint,
parties involved, Relief sought”
“The Council shall respond within 30 days”
“If the member is not satisfied with the decision, an appeal may
be submitted to the Directors, who shall respond within 30
days”
“Any member who violates this process by initiating legaI
action without exhausting internal mechanism as stipulated by
the Chamber shall be suspended, referred to the Disciplinary
Committee for further review”
2.0.Election of Council Members.

Trade Fair Complex,Zoo Road Kano.
Completed forms must be submi ed and acknowledgement
for same obtained on or before 24th July, 2025.
